Just wrapping up for the day...I've been trying to work on the Texas Hunt Lodge website a bit, and then finishing up the Bar for the Accommodations we're about 1/2 way done with. We've added some good hunting deals to the website this week...if you're a first time hunter or just want some Venison for the freezer, check out the Texas Hunting Specials Page on the site.

The picture above was from a couple of weeks ago when my Dad and I were taking down some walls and putting up peeled Cedar posts in their place to hold up the ceiling.
I think, and hope, that we'll be completed towards the end of November. In the meantime, we're just taking hunters out to the ranches w/o the accommodations part of the hunt package.
Joanie, My Dad, and I are headed to Stamford on Friday morning. We're picking up about 100 railroad ties for the waterfront remodel we'll be jumping on next month, and then heading to Lubbock afterwards for the Texas Longhorns v Texas Tech game. Numero Uno vs Number 5...and the first Gameday ever in Lubbock, TX.
Tickets are going for about $300 to walk in the door right now...we've got (2) on the lower level 40 yard line right now for sale if you know someone that wants great seats...they're a bit more expensive.
Well, I'll keep posting info about the new business and get some new pictures up next week.

October 21st
Busy Days lately. Joanie and I went to Stamford last weekend to visit her folks and family. We watched Roscoe beat up on the Stamford Bulldogs on Friday night, then hung out at the house all day Saturday watching Texas Tech beat A&M, and then my #1 BCS Longhorns crush Missouri.

Jason, Joanie, Shanthi, and I carved up some pumpkins...they turned out pretty good. I might post a picture on the photo's page of the completed work.
Our lake has finally been drained. The county came out to pull the plug last week, and there is only a small river about a foot deep now where the lake used to be. We'll be getting a Bobkat down there in about 3 weeks, and fixing up the waterfront. We're picking up about 100 used railroad ties in 2 weeks to use for
a retaining wall.
Texashuntlodge.com is coming along...my Dad is putting in some wiring and plumbing today in preperation for the kitchen appliances, TV, etc. Joanie is cranking out "Species Pages" which tell about each of the Wild Game Species you can hunt around here. I'm mostly working on Southern Sports Travel for the time being. We'll be up and running by the end of the week, though our website is still about 2 weeks from launch. In the meantime, if you need Sports, Concert, Theatre tickets or travel, let us know, and we'll be happy to assist.

October 14th
Joanie and I have been writing code non-stop for the past 2 days. The Texas Hunt Lodge website was indexed by Google and Yahoo last week, and I finally started to get phone calls from people wanting to book hunts. So, we're in the process now of getting some of the many hunt packages with pricing posted online.

Above is a picture from a camping trip that we took about 2 weeks ago to Garner State Park. Just us and the dogs...we arrived on a Monday and there weren't many folks around. We took my old hunting trailer, the dogs, some steaks, and cooked out for a couple of nights. We tried to fish, we could see some big ones, but the wouldn't take the bait from the fishing lines. So after about 2 hours of fishing, we said screw it and swung off the rope swing instead. It was Joanie's first time to jump from a rope swing, so it took me about 30 min to get her convinced that she wouldn't hit the bottom of the river (12 feet down) or forget to let go of the rope and crash into the rocks on shore.
So, SouthernSportsTravel.com is finally under construction. I will have an XML website built and live hopefully within then next month...then it's just a matter of building that company to suit what we want it to do for us. I'm definitely not going to market the whole concert, NY Theatre, Vegas Theatre scene like your typical ticket broker, but then again, I won't turn down a request/sale if it pays the electric bill. Our focus will basically just be in Major International Events, College Football Packages, NFL Packages, Masters and Kentucky Derby. It will be a ton of work, but I'm looking forward to the tasks ahead of us.
